🌠 First Impressions

✨ VISUAL: Ziva is a member of the Miqo'te race, half-Moon Keeper, half-Sun Seeker. As such her most noteworthy features are her long, slender, cat ears, lion's tail, elongated canines, permanent tiger mask face paint, and the long scar running diagonal between her eyes/across her nose.

✨ FASHION: Typically rogue-ish/sky piratey: bandannas, leather jackets, gloves with tattered cuffs, knee high boots, that sort of thing. It depends on the weather, too. You can find an IC closet here. Please note it's a WIP, and some outfits will not be available in-game yet, this is more a fashion reference. You can also find official screen shots of some of her other outfits from home here.

✨ DEMEANOUR: Laid back, playful, and confident in a very relaxed way, like she doesn't intimidate easily. She can sometimes come across as cheeky or cocky. However her attitude shifts drastically if you present yourself as a direct threat to her or those around her, and she can have a very heavy/intimidating air when this is the case- no more taunting smirks or grins then.

✨ AURAL: Raspy in a tomboyish way, in the alto voice range, and she has a bit of a hiss when speaking certain words. Rather than exaggerating and drawing out her "S" sounds they sound sharp and tend to run together a little when directly preceding/following one another. You can hear it here (Spoiler Warning: Early main story quest for Limsa Lominsa).

✨ OLFACTORY: Natural. Typically like fresh leather and the components for treating it, with a definite outdoorsy scent as well. Having a sensitive sense of smell herself she tries not to walk around reeking of chocobo (as her companion does) or blood, characters might pick up on this, however, as she hunts for her own supplies and does a loooot of fighting and killing. Those blades aren't just for show.

✨ MENTAL INFORMATION: No shields or anything. On the surface level of her thoughts is a general curiosity for the world going on around her as Ziva tends to keep herself busy by interacting with her surroundings and is- as such -always keeping an eye on it. If you plan to have your character do any sort of mind reading please let me know and I'll tell you then what they might find specifically.

✨ MAGICAL INFORMATION: If characters are sensitive to life energies they may sense (smell, see, or feel) traces of aether about her, as Ziva frequently comes and goes from Mor Dhonna, an area densely dotted with crystalized aether. Its presence lingering on her person isn't nearly strong enough to cause any "aether sickness" but it might be visible around her for those sensitive to auras. Also living things in Eorzea are made up of aether (think like the "life stream" from FF7), so they might pick up on that if looking at her life energy, I suppose.

✨ BACKTAGGING: I enjoy backtagging threads! In fact I sometimes have to with my current schedule, which mostly allows for tagging over weekends and limits my time through the week. My only stipulation is that there's still a notable momentum. If a thread is straggling along or is mostly small talk stuff I might drop it but I'll try to touch base first.

✨ FOURTHWALLING: I enjoy being a little meta now and then and I personally don't usually mind fourthwalling. You can tell Ziva she's a video game protagonist from your world if you want, hell, she'd probably be thrilled to know she's from a popular franchise (it'd be weird as heck but still cool), just don't break the RP (mundane/character) fourth wall, please! And please, please ASK before dropping any relevant spoilers on her (or in turn, me)!

✨ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Absolutely, yes. Ziva is a tactile person and would be very receptive of this as long as she's spoken to you a bit. Anything from hand holding to sex is fair game as long as both parties are in mutual agreement. She won't react poorly unless you're being a jerk about it (do NOT grab at the ears or tail trust me it won't end well for you).

✨ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Yeah this is fine. Ziva enjoys fighting. Be advised that she is highly skilled, very slippery, and won't hesitate to defend herself or another if you attack, and she does carry weapons (dual blades, throwing knives, and a whip).

✨ RELATIONSHIPS: Friends with benefits are welcome, casual sex is fine, one night stands are cool, if you're looking for monogamy, though, you're probably barking up the wrong tree. I say probably because as of more recent content Priorities Have Changed. Miqo'te seldom do monogamy even when they're in love, and open relationships are usually quite common. Ziva herself was once in such a relationship and while she has a big heart at her present canon point, with fairly recent losses she's keeping it just a little bit more guarded than usual. That being said persistence yields its own rewards. She might develop feelings so an in-game-relationship could possibly develop if you want to plot, but please be aware that depending on the way it develops it may not be 100% exclusive. It REALLY depends on the person and the development. That said I'm perfectly down with plotting something like that out if that's your thing, or you just want some frustration/angst for your character I guess.

✨ CROSS-CANON & ASSUMED CR: While I would really love to get to play against some canon-mates sometime I'm really here for cross-canon shenanigans. Those shenanigans can be AU's, jamjars, one-off memes, or ongoing PSL's. I'm 100% here for assumed CR, too, but value communication over anything else, especially depending on the story context. I prefer that as opposed to asking someone to make changes to their tags (because I'm honestly just grateful if you're interested in threading with me!). In other words, I'm not restricted to just Final Fantasy things and assumed CR is A-okay, just drop a line so we can sort out the details!


🌠 Permissions

✨ THE ECHO: This ability allows Ziva to experience another character's memories (no equipment required). Unfortunately this is not always voluntary, so in the interest of maintaining the element of OOC consent I've opted to tone this particular power down so it won't just strike at random. HOWEVER, if your character is projecting while talking to her (dwelling very intensely on a particular or recent memory/experience) it's entirely possible she'll pick up on it/have a vision of it anyway. Take this into consideration for interactions and let me know with the form below if you want to do something with this. Depending on the length and strength of the vision her reaction can range from anything to simply zoning out, to physical pain, to actually passing out right on the spot, sometimes for a few minutes and sometimes for hours. The vision is seen by Ziva from an omnisceient point of view and the other character(s) are unaware of what she has seen, or that she's seen anything at all for that matter. I'm also treating this as an opt-in ability and unless specifically asked or I specifically ask you I will not make use of this.

✨ ADDITIONAL NOTE: Part of the power of the Echo will also sometimes grant Ziva the ability to interact directly with the memory in question. She might be a comforting presence or even do something as simple as hand over an important memento. The interaction will not alter the original memory's outcome (or how your character remembers the memory) of the events as they have already transpired. Think of it as something like a dream version of the event. In cases such as this Ziva appears to the character in question as an indistinguishable, bright, warm, white light. This particular type of vision seems to be shared... KIND of, in that characters are aware that she's just witnessed the memory and they are somehow aware that she interacted with the memory, even though nothing has changed. Please let me know if you'd like to make use of this!

AUREL: Voice samples for various emotions can be found here and here. Note, please, that like most miqo'te Ziva ppronounces her S's and C's more sharply, resulting in a slight hissing noise. Don't think of it like the cartoon hissing you commonly hear. Rather than elongating the sound it comes across as a soft and harsh noise. It becomes more pronounced when she speaks words ending and beginning with these types of sounds back to back. Ziva is, according to the Briggs Personality Type system, an Extrovert who externalizes her thoughts and feelings rather than withdrawing into herself for answers. She takes in information through a Sensing preference (she prefers knowledge that she can verify through her senses and/or facts over taking a figurative approach). She makes decisions based on how she Feels about the information she's received/collected ("impulsive" and "selfless" are often words used to describe her). She also Perceives any additional information that she needs to gather (spontaneous, flexible). Granted these are just preferences and like most people it's normal that she has some behavior from the other letters of this system (I, N, T, and J). Preferences are dynamic and they change as we all grow, but this is who she is at her current point in life.

As you might expect from an RPG protagonist Ziva is an outgoing, selfless, sometimes (oftentimes) impulsive individual. She loves wordplay and puns, is openly "dorky" around others, enjoys being in the spotlight, and in fact her reasons for leaving home and coming to Ul'dah was to travel the world and become a famed adventurer (She answers that she's seeking "glory" to the NPC asking about her motivation in the opening cut scenes.). Though this IS her initial goal when she sets out Ziva is too kindhearted to ignore people in need, so rather than only taking on grand tasks that will garner her a fast track on the reputation train she stops to help almost everybody that she meets without thought of reward or personal gain. An example of this is when she sidetracks her plans to explore and travel in favor of helping the victims of the recent Calamity when she first arrives in Limsa Lominsa. Seeing naval sailors and civilians working alongside pirates gave her the first taste of what to expect from the people of Eorzea. Despite their differences they clearly looked after one another and weren't afraid to pick themselves back up after such devastation, rather than giving in to despair in light of all they'd lost.

A perfect example of how being an "E" has helped her in her long term goals would be during the main story quest in Camp Drybone. She stops when she hears some poor soul sobbing over the body of a loved one waiting for their last rites. Upon stopping to ask if they're alright she's told their recent story. This leads to a quest taking her from the settlement of Camp Drybone to the busy streets of Ul'dah to retrieve something at the behest of that individual. That selfsame kindness and willingness to help whoever she comes across builds the foundation for the famed Guardian of Eorzea. People throughout the realm whose lives she touches without even THINKING about it are the very ones who go on to lift her name in praise later on. Her natural curiosity and outgoing nature as an Extrovert leads her to approach them, her information gathering as a Sensor tells her what needs to be done to remedy their problem, and her compassionate nature as she Feels and Perceives drives her decision to act on this information because she sympathizes or empathizes with them, wants to see them comforted even if it's just a little.

For that same reason Ziva can be considered a very reliable individual despite her seeming impulsiveness. There's a method to the madness if you just know how she thinks. She isn't in the least bit put off by the prospect of danger and in fact relishes the challenge and the chance to show off, if I'm being honest. She's got no problem being errand girl and running letters hither and thither, or delving into dungeons to retrieve some missing artifact, person, or necessary ingredient. She loves her life because of the freedom being an adventurer grants her, even if being Hydalen's Champion grants her barely a full day of rest she wouldn't change it for just about anything.

She does have some faults and flaws, of course. For one, acting without thinking has landed her in more than a few tough spots, despite the outcome or the need for such actions there's an undeniable risk to it all. She has gotten better about this but she also has little patience for rigorous procedures. This can be frustrating for other individuals around her who are more orderly.

She's perpetually optimistic and prefers staying busy, having a large group of people in her life. When faced with the overwhelming loss in the wake of the disaster at the Waking Sands she was left in a state of shock. A large portion of her perceived family had been stolen from her and she felt that pain deeply. That need to stay busy meant that the only thing driving her initially was her thirst for justice for her fallen comrades, leaving her with a single minded purpose and need to FIX things and restore harmony. She needed guidance to help piece her world back together and find the right path.

That brings me to her stubborn streak. Yes, Ziva is flexible when it comes to most things in life but again- it's normal to have tendencies from both sides of the fence and Ziva is no exception. When she sets her mind to something she can be adamant about it, determined, stubborn even. While she's perfectly happy to give, and give, it does mean that when she wants something badly enough she'll stand her ground and refuse to budge without extensive persuasion. The best way to do this is by appealing to her emotions rather than logic, as that's how she bases her decisions. Last, as expressive and impulsive as she is that does mean she tends to wear her heart on her sleeve. This makes it sometimes easy to read for better or for worse, in both harmless and dangerous situations. She can be bluntly outspoken when addressing a problem, though she means well more often than not. It can sometimes come over as disrespectful and there are times that she need to be reminded how to address certain superiors, or not to resort to violence when someone severely taunts her (9 times out of 10 this is when the well being of another is at stake).

Bonding with others comes easily for her, at least from her side of things. She enjoys having many relationships and keeping in touch. She constantly strives to keep her companions in good spirits (sometimes for better or for worse). She's also of a forgiving sort of nature, believing in second chances and not inclined to hold grudges, though she may be a little wary if betrayed severely enough. Part of this is thanks to the Echo. Since discovering this ability it has become easier for her to know the hearts of her fellow man, though it's hardly fool-proof. She has been and is capable of being deceived even by fellow (seeming) Eorzeans. One could really say that she's TOO trusting, if anything, thinking the better of others even when she perhaps shouldn't. An example of this is when she met Ca'illa Avia, an orphaned young Sun Seeker Miqo'te who the tribe took in shortly after Ziva left home. Having grown up hearing stories of Ziva she eventually set out to follow her once she came of age. Following the tales she eventually found Ziva at the coast of Thanalan, in Vesper Bay where the Scions were making their home. Ziva was still recovering from the sudden infamy that came with slaying Ifrit. When Cai turned up out of the blue claiming to be Ziva's youngest sister... Well, even though she was a terrible liar and Ziva saw right through her she willingly went along with it anyway. Cai went on to get herself in and out of trouble here and there trying to follow in Ziva's footsteps, but Ziva never hesitated to dig her back out. Cai eventually confronts Ziva with the truth and Ziva tells her that she'd known all along, but when asked why she hadn't simply sent her packing Ziva responds that she figured Cai must have had a good reason for it. If she wanted to be Ziva's little sister badly enough to go to all that trouble then something as trivial as blood relations shouldn't matter. That's just how she is.

Now having grown up on a (large) island in a coalition made up primarily of females, and then having spent six years living among pirates and sea faring folk Ziva's picked up a few habits. Her manner of speech tends to be on the loose side, rather informal most of the time, though through her dealings with the Holy See and customers of the Leather worker guild she's learned a BIT how to carry herself properly when necessary. She's openly flirtatious and though it doesn't occur until later she does eventually marry a chosen life partner (not once, but twice once widowed). Her first spouse, her wife, agreed to an open marriage for Ziva's sake. Fate, however, was not kind to the two and Ziva found herself widowed after a failed excursion into enemy territory with what turned out much too late to be an ill-matched party. The loss of Saiyuri prompted Ziva to reevaluate her priorities. Sadly it wouldn't even be the last in a line of devastating losses. Eventually these experiences do alter her view on romance, as well as encouraging Ziva to slow down a bit from her earlier pacing. When she eventually engages in a new Eternal Bond it isn't until some time after the final conclusion of the Dragonsong War, this time with a stubbornly persistent Warrior named Estien (not to be confused with the Azure Dragoon, Estinien).

Last, but not least, Ziva's sleeping habits have shifted accordingly to match her lifestyle. Rather than having a set sleep schedule she pretty much just gets it whenever she can now, though there was a time when she was traveling the realm and sleeping through the nights rather than the days.

HISTORY.
✨ Early Life ✨

Despite being a clan of Moon Keepers there are signs of mixed traits in Ziva's birth coalition, as it wasn't entirely uncommon for the females to accept a particularly fine specimen of Sun Seeker into their midst from time to time. The logic was simple: If any lone Sun Seeker male was strong enough, smart enough, and/or fast enough to make it past the Keeper males that claimed territory nearby then he was a male worth considering. Some of the females chose to further test these would be Seeker suitors in contests of strength and prowess, but one such encounter is how Ziva, her older, and younger sister were all conceived. This is why they have the lion tails and richer coloring rather than the blunted tails and duller skin tones that most Keepers do, though the rest of Ziva's traits are that of a Keeper (such as her eyes and fangs). Mama Ganajai really liked him, okay?

As mentioned Ziva was the middle child of her mother's children. Growing up she was trained in the art of the pugilists and eventually joined her tribe-sisters in the hunt. Her life was rather normal for the most part. She was a curious child and eager to prove herself.

They had a fair share of traders that came through their home but they would barter with them only on occasion. As a result Ziva, like other youths before her, grew up hearing many stories about the land to the North. The first story that stood out to her was that of the Rose of the Desert, that city of jewels and gold whose people were known for the richness of their lives be it monetary or passion. The first time she heard about Ul'dah she found that she couldn't get the images painted by the patriotic trader out of her head. For days she imagined grander and grander images of what such a place must look like. Towering stone walls set in an arid land of sand and sprinkled with the rare lush oasis. Wide, populated streets, the scents of exotic foods and fragrances traveling from the marketplace. That was also the home to many brave warriors, puglists, gladiators, thurmaturges, and paladins. People came from far and wide to train, trade, or live there, and to a young cub whose entire life had been lush, vibrant forest she could scarcely even picture it. She began to ask after other places the merchants had traveled to (sometimes having to be scolded and boxed on the ears for being a distraction while they were trying to negotiate, but remaining completely undeterred) and heard tales of even further away lands like La Noscea and Coerthas. It was then that Ziva's desire to travel the world began to burn its brightest, a passion and a thirst for adventuring and travel that she still carries with her to this day.

✨ Traveling to Eorzea ✨

At the age of seventeen, once Ziva was deemed ready to begin her coming of age trial she almost couldn't wait for the word "go". Contrary to what this eagerness might normally say about a person's opinion of home life Ziva loved her home and her coalition but when given her chance to finally see the world and put images and faces to places and names she felt nothing but excitement. She set out the very week of her name day. It took her a couple of years to even raise the coin to make the trip across the sea. During that time she worked odd jobs and acted as a sort of mercenary, protecting travelers and gatherers as they journeyed here and there, hunting down supplies for leather workers. By the start of her twentieth year she'd finally managed to raise enough to make the trip. During her journey the Calamity struck, dealing Eorzea a devastating blow. She stood on the deck of the ship with the rest of the crew and passengers watching in awe and horror as the debris struck the land in the distance.

She arrived in Limsa Lominsa and wasn't surprised to find the land in a bad way. Rather than continuing on to Thanalan as had been her plan Ziva spent a good deal of time here, helping the people pick themselves back up wherever she could lend a hand. She eventually traded in her pugilist arms for "stabbers" when she joined the "Dutiful Sisters" and became a member of the rogues' guild. She remained for some time mastering her new found trade over the next six years, traveling across La Noscea whenever her services weren't needed for the Sisterhood.

SKILLS -&- POSSESSIONS.
✨ Amber Draught Chocobo ✨

Her mount of choice, a two seat chocobo blood red in color with white tipped feathers. They're known to be loyal to their masters and have good stamina. Her bird also carries her travel bags/supplies.

✨ HUNTING ✨

Being born and raised into a nomadic group of hunters means Ziva grew up learning how to survive off of the land. She doesn't have to call on the skills as often these days with all the modern conveniences that the larger city-states offer but she has the skills for when she needs them. She's an excellent tracker, hunter, and knows how to skin and prepare most types of animals as well as use remains for supplies or provisions to last.

✨ COMBAT ✨

During Ziva's travels she joined up with a couple of guilds to learn the tricks of their trades. Among these guilds were the rogues, weavers, and leather workers. Rogues are the protectors of the "Code" in Limsa Lominsa, keeping to the shadows under the guise of the "Dutiful Sisters" while ensuring that pirates stay within the bounds of their own laws. They're dual wielding fighters with lightning quick speed and reflexes. Being a member of this guild Ziva's fighting style is acrobatic, making her a difficult target with flips, spins, and kicks. She seldom stays in the same spot during prolonged combat and usually attacks from an opponents' rear or flank. They strike fast and hard, including assassination techniques that let her literally get the drop on them from above or to become almost undetectable before attacking. Side note, she's passable with a whip and carries one on her back (used for traversing wild terrain, really).

Needless to say she won't be using this here unless it's a consensual spar. She'd also want to have her weapons of choice (Jyambas, throwing knives, and a whip she carries on her back) registered with the city.

✨ LEATHER WORKING & WEAVING ✨

Just a brief note that Ziva is also a member of these guilds and has completed up to level 50 of the Leather Worker quest line and level 35 of the Weaver quest line. Basically she added onto her preexisting knowledge as a hunter by learning how to treat, tan, cut, and work her own supplies. ✨ THE ECHO ✨

As one of Hydalen's champions Ziva has a unique gift known simply as "the Echo". This ability allows her the ability to understand any spoken language and grants her the mostly involuntary glimpses of the past of those immediately around her. As she's adjusted to this ability her reactions have grown more tempered (she used to just fall out wherever she was standing when she had a vision), but she definitely zones out when they happen.

The echo also allows her to appear in a person's memory, to interact with them though she cannot actually alter events of the past. When this happens she appears as a radiant light, preventing her from being easily identified, such as when she appeared in Cid's memory and gave him the goggles that he began to wear when first coming to Eorzea. • Despite being a clan of Moon Keepers there were signs of mixed traits, as it wasn't entirely uncommon for the females to accept a particularly fine specimen of Sun Seeker into their midst from time to time. • Many Moon Keepers turned to poaching within the Black Shroud and as a result were often at odds with the people of Gridania and the settlements throughout the Twelveswood. If asked about this Ziva would bluntly side with Gridania as having the right of it, given the involvement of the elementals. It isn't about a lack of loyalty, but respecting the bounty of the land.

• Aside from that Ziva's coalition has a rather free way of life aside from a short and strict set of rules, one of which ties in with a coming-of-age tradition. When a huntress comes of age she is expected to leave the coalition for a time to learn to hunt on her own. This is to teach her, at minimum, the value of having a community with which to rely on and sisters to always turn to. They very firmly embody the belief that it takes a village to raise a child, and no cub is ever left to fend for themselves before they are ready. Usually this was between the ages of seventeen and nineteen, though there are exceptions. This also ensures that the coalition does not expand beyond its means as many huntresses, more and more, choose to settle down in one of the three great nations (for better or for worse). Those that do return do not do so immediately, their journeys lasting from anywhere from one year and up- if they return at all.

✨ Coalition ✨


According to game lore each playable race of Hydaelyn comes in two clans. For miqo'te there are the Seekers of the Sun and Keepers of the Moon. Half-breeds are uncommon but not unheard of, mostly due to the fact that the clans normally live separate lifestyles from one another.

Both clans share similarities with wild cats in our world. Seekers are most like lions, often living in large groups made up primarily of warrior females while there is one designated male for breeding, and sometimes a separate male for leadership. Seekers are known for being the originators of the lion-tail trait as well as having the feline eyes and richer skin tones.

Keepers, in contrast, can be likened to cheetahs. They too live in groups made up mostly of females, but their groups tend to be smaller and more insular, made up of several families with NO males aside from their own cubs. The male Keepers often claim territory surrounding female Keeper territory. They come around to breed and will only be allowed as long as the females choose to tolerate them (Ziva's and her sisters father in specific was a rare exception to this as he was a Seeker, not a Keeper, more on that below). Keepers usually have blunted tails, pronounced canines, and duskier skin tones. It's worth noting that Ziva's skin tone is richer and she has the lion tail as a result of her being a cross-breed, like her sisters.

Both groups are implied to have an open approach to sexuality with Seekers in particular being known as openly promiscuous. Bixesual, lesbian, and open relationships are the norm rather than the exception.

Ziva's coalition has a tradition of sending cubs out on their own once they reach an age between 16-18, depending on how quickly they learn. This helps to keep their numbers from swelling as many of the females often find themselves taken with life outside the coalition, and also ensures that the males leave to find their own place in the world.

✨ Early Life ✨


Despite being a clan of Moon Keepers there are signs of mixed traits in Ziva's birth coalition, as it wasn't entirely uncommon for the females to accept a particularly fine specimen of Sun Seeker into their midst from time to time. The logic was simple: If any lone Sun Seeker male was strong enough, smart enough, and/or fast enough to make it past the Keeper males that claimed territory nearby then he was a male worth considering. Some of the females chose to further test these would be Seeker suitors in contests of strength and prowess, but one such encounter is how Ziva, her older, and younger sister were all conceived. This is why she has the skin and tail of a Seeker.

As mentioned Ziva was the middle child of her mother's children. Growing up she trained in the art of the pugilists and eventually joined her tribe-sisters in the hunt. Her life was rather normal for the most part. She was a curious child and eager to prove herself.

They had a fair share of traders that came through their home but they would barter with them only on occasion. As a result Ziva, like other youths before her, grew up hearing many stories about the land to the North. The first story that stood out to her was that of the Rose of the Desert, that city of jewels and gold whose people were known for the richness of their lives be it monetary or passion. The first time she heard about Ul'dah she found that she couldn't get the images painted by the patriotic trader out of her head. For days she imagined grander and grander images of what such a place must look like. Towering stone walls set in an arid land of sand and sprinkled with the rare lush oasis. Wide, populated streets, the scents of exotic foods and fragrances traveling from the marketplace. That was also the home to many brave warriors and mages. People came from far and wide to train, trade, or live there, and to a young cub whose entire life had been lush, vibrant forest she could scarcely even picture it. She began to ask after other places the merchants had traveled to (sometimes having to be scolded and boxed on the ears for being a distraction while they were trying to negotiate, but remaining completely undeterred) and heard tales of even further away lands like La Noscea and Coerthas. It was then that Ziva's desire to travel the world began to burn its brightest, a passion and a thirst for adventuring and travel that she still carries with her to this day.

✨ Traveling to Eorzea ✨


At the age of seventeen, once Ziva was deemed ready to begin her coming of age trial she almost couldn't wait for the word "go". Contrary to what this eagerness might normally say about a person's opinion of home life Ziva loved her home and her coalition but when given her chance to finally see the world and put images and faces to places and names she felt nothing but excitement. She set out the very week of her name day.

It took her a couple of years to even raise the coin to make the trip across the sea. During that time she worked odd jobs and acted as a sort of mercenary, protecting travelers and gatherers as they journeyed here and there, hunting down supplies for leather workers. By the start of her twentieth year she'd finally managed to raise enough to make the trip. During her journey the Calamity struck, dealing Eorzea a devastating blow. She stood on the deck of the ship with the rest of the crew and passengers watching in awe and horror as the debris struck the land in the distance.

None were surprised to find the land in a bad way once docked... Rather than continuing on to Thanalan as had been her plan Ziva spent a good deal of time here, helping the people pick themselves back up wherever she could lend a hand. She eventually traded in her pugilist arms for "stabbers" when she joined the "Dutiful Sisters" and became a member of the rogues' guild. She remained for some time mastering her new found trade over the next six years, traveling across La Noscea whenever her services weren't needed for the Sisterhood.

✨ A Realm Reborn / Heavensward ✨


The rest of Ziva's story picks up as linked in the timelines above following the course of ARR up until her canon point at the end of 3.1. Ziva's journey to become the Warrior of Light and Hydaelyn's chosen champion was an unexpected one. What originally began as a personal quest to become a famed adventurer and explore Eorzea instead found her its guardian, doing all she can to protect it. From the moment she arrived in Limsa Lominsa her path began taking shape. From small favors she formed bonds with strangers, earned the people's trust and was in turn tasked with larger tasks. Aiding citizens, rooting out Garlean forces, even helping with the god-like primals threatening each nation's way of life: no task was too small or too large, and Ziva didn't do it alone. Along the way she formed many bonds, even found herself a wife. She's fought alongside everyone from fellow adventurers and Scions to sky pirates to beastmen. She had her companions to fight by her side every step of the way, though when push came to shove it was Hydaelyn's champion alone who could withstand the greatest dangers. She's uncovered sinister plots one after another, each more dangerous than the last. The Scions most recent efforts have landed Ziva and companions squarely in the center of Ishgard's Dragonsong war. Through much sacrifice finally it appears as though it may finally be drawing to a close, great cost not withstanding.

In the aftermath of the events in Thanalan three of the Scion's inner circle remain unaccounted for. Many have given their lives for the sake of peace, some of them friends, and there are still many yet unanswered questions. New threats and foes loom in the distance, lurking in the shadows, yet the future remains bright and hopeful. With peace on the horizon for Ishgard Ziva and her companions pray that all of their losses and the sacrifices along the way will pay off in the end.

If you prefer I can summarize events in my own words, but there is a lot (like a LOT a lot), so I've included only what was truly unique to Ziva.

PERSONALITY:
ESFP


Ziva is, according to the Briggs Personality Type system, an Extrovert who externalizes her thoughts and feelings rather than withdrawing into herself for answers. She takes in information through a Sensing preference (she prefers knowledge that she can verify through her senses and/or facts over taking a figurative approach). She makes decisions based on how she Feels about the information she's received/collected ("impulsive" and "selfless" are often words used to describe her). She also Perceives any additional information that she needs to gather (spontaneous, flexible). Granted these are just preferences and like most people it's normal that she has some behavior from the other letters of this system (I, N, T, and J). Preferences are dynamic and they change as we all grow, but this is who she is at her current point in life.

As you might expect from an RPG protagonist Ziva is an outgoing, selfless, sometimes (oftentimes) impulsive individual. She loves wordplay and puns, is openly "dorky" around others, enjoys being in the spotlight, and in fact her reasons for leaving home and coming to Ul'dah was to travel the world and become a famed adventurer (She answers that she's seeking "glory" to the NPC asking about her motivation in the opening cut scenes.). Though this IS her initial goal when she sets out Ziva is too kindhearted to ignore people in need, so rather than only taking on grand tasks that will garner her a fast track on the reputation train she stops to help almost everybody that she meets without thought of reward or personal gain. An example of this is when she sidetracks her plans to explore and travel in favor of helping the victims of the recent Calamity when she first arrives in Limsa Lominsa. Seeing naval sailors and civilians working alongside pirates gave her the first taste of what to expect from the people of Eorzea. Despite their differences they clearly looked after one another and weren't afraid to pick themselves back up after such devastation, rather than giving in to despair in light of all they'd lost.

A perfect example of how being an "E" has helped her in her long term goals would be during the main story quest in Camp Drybone. She stops when she hears some poor soul sobbing over the body of a loved one waiting for their last rites. Upon stopping to ask if they're alright she's told their recent story. This leads to a quest taking her from the settlement of Camp Drybone to the busy streets of Ul'dah to retrieve something at the behest of that individual. That selfsame kindness and willingness to help whoever she comes across builds the foundation for the famed Guardian of Eorzea. People throughout the realm whose lives she touches without even THINKING about it are the very ones who go on to lift her name in praise later on. Her natural curiosity and outgoing nature as an Extrovert leads her to approach them, her information gathering as a Sensor tells her what needs to be done to remedy their problem, and her compassionate nature as she Feels and Perceives drives her decision to act on this information because she sympathizes or empathizes with them, wants to see them comforted even if it's just a little.

For that same reason Ziva can be considered a very reliable individual despite her seeming impulsiveness. There's a method to the madness if you just know how she thinks. She isn't in the least bit put off by the prospect of danger and in fact relishes the challenge and the chance to show off, if I'm being honest. She's got no problem being errand girl and running letters hither and thither, or delving into dungeons to retrieve some missing artifact, person, or necessary ingredient. She loves her life because of the freedom being an adventurer grants her, even if being Hydaelyn's Champion grants her barely a full day of rest she wouldn't change it for just about anything.

She has faults and flaws too. For one, acting without thinking has landed her in more than a few tough spots, despite the outcome or the need for such actions there's an undeniable risk to it all. She has gotten better about this but she also has little patience for rigorous procedures. This can be frustrating for other individuals around her who are more orderly.

She's optimistic and prefers staying busy, having a large group of people in her life. When faced with the overwhelming loss in the wake of the disaster at the Waking Sands she was left in a state of shock. A large portion of her perceived family had been stolen from her and she felt that pain deeply. That need to stay busy meant that the only thing driving her initially was her thirst for justice for her fallen comrades, leaving her with a single minded purpose and need to FIX things and restore harmony. She needed guidance to help piece her world back together and find the right path.

That brings me to her stubborn streak. Yes, Ziva is flexible when it comes to most things in life but again- it's normal to have tendencies from both sides of the fence and Ziva is no exception. When she sets her mind to something she can be adamant about it, determined, stubborn even. While she's perfectly happy to give, and give, it does mean that when she wants something badly enough she'll stand her ground and refuse to budge without extensive persuasion. The best way to do this is by appealing to her emotions rather than logic, as that's how she bases her decisions. Last, as expressive and impulsive as she is that does mean she tends to wear her heart on her sleeve. This makes it sometimes easy to read for better or for worse, in both harmless and dangerous situations. She can be bluntly outspoken when addressing a problem, though she means well more often than not. It can sometimes come over as disrespectful and there are times that she need to be reminded how to address certain superiors, or not to resort to violence when someone severely taunts her (9 times out of 10 this is when the well being of another is at stake).

Forming attachments comes easily for her. She enjoys having many varied relationships and keeps in touch. She strives to keep her companions in good spirits (sometimes for better or for worse). She's of a forgiving sort of nature, believing in second chances and not inclined to hold grudges, though she's understandably wary if betrayed. Part of this is thanks to the Echo. Since discovering this ability it has become easier for her to know the hearts of her fellow man. An example of this is when she met Ca'illa Avia, a young Sun Seeker Miqo'te the tribe took in shortly after Ziva left home. Having grown up hearing stories of Ziva's growing fame she snuck off to follow her at just 15. Following the tales she eventually found Ziva at the coast of Thanalan, in Vesper Bay where the Scions were making their home. Ziva was still recovering from the sudden infamy that came with slaying Ifrit. Cai turned up out of the blue claiming to be Ziva's youngest sister, and even though Ziva saw right through her she went along with it anyway. Cai constantly got herself in and out of trouble trying to follow in Ziva's footsteps but Ziva never hesitated to dig her back out. When the truth came to light Ziva admitted she'd known all along, but when asked why she hadn't sent her packing Ziva responds that if she wanted to be Ziva's little sister badly enough to go to all that trouble something as trivial as blood relations didn't matter.

Now having grown up in a coalition made up primarily of females and then spending six years living among pirates and sea faring folk Ziva's picked up a few habits. Her manner of speech tends to be on the loose side, informal most of the time, though through her dealings with the Holy See and customers of the leather worker guild she's learned how to carry herself properly when necessary. She's openly flirtatious and though it doesn't occur until later she does eventually marry a chosen life partner. It's an open marriage, a testament to both her wife and the realm of Eorzea's acceptance of all walks of life. Last, but not least, Ziva's sleeping habits have shifted accordingly to match her lifestyle. Rather than having a set sleep schedule she pretty much just gets it whenever she can now, though there was a time when she was traveling the realm and sleeping through the nights rather than the days.

ABILITIES: Over the years of her traveling Zi has picked up a few bags of tricks. Here's a run down:

✨ MIQO'TE HUNTRESS ✨


• Being born and raised into a nomadic group of hunters means Ziva grew up learning how to survive off of the land. She's an excellent tracker with keen hearing and smell. Her Moon Keeper heritage also allows her much sharper vision in the darkness. She knows how to skin and prepare most types of animals as well as use remains for supplies or provisions to last.

✨ COMBAT ✨


• She knows how to fight with blades, poisons (which can very briefly stun fighters and silence casters), fists (and hand worn weapons like brass knuckles), and a whip. Ziva also knows hand to hand combat and has an acrobatic fighting style heavily reliant on agility, kicks, flips, and spins to dodge enemy blows and disorient opponents.

• She began her training as a pugilist. These fighters rely on a direct method of combat and so speed is vital for dodging and outwitting their opponents. They typically attack from the rear and flank positions, and most pugilists prefer to use some form of metal or leather weapon to add attack potency rather than using their bare fists. Ziva's time with the pugilist guild was short as she already had the basic fundamentals upon arriving in Ul'dah.

• Rogues are the secret protectors of the pirate "code" in Limsa Lominsa, keeping to the shadows under the guise of the "Dutiful Sisters" while ensuring that pirates stay within the bounds of their own laws (mainly not stealing from honest folks or engaging in the black trade of buying/selling/trading people). They're dual wielding fighters with lightning quick speed and reflexes. Being a member of this guild Ziva's fighting style is acrobatic, making her a difficult target with flips, spins, and kicks. She seldom stays in the same spot during prolonged combat and usually attacks from an opponents' rear or flank. They strike fast and hard, including assassination techniques that let her literally get the drop on them from above with their "Assassination" skill, or to become almost undetectable before attacking with the "hide" technique (as long as she doesn't invade their physical space). She can score major damage by cloaking herself with "hide" and then attacking from either the front or the rear of a n opponent with "trick attack". In addition she does know one support skill called "goad". Goad allows her to lend her energy to a comrade whose stamina is running low. It has a limited cool down of a minute or so between uses and can only restore a bit of stamina at a time, not all at once. Think of it like an RPG regen spell, but for energy instead of health.

• Ziva saw an opportunity to further her training when approached by shinobi from Doma. They also fight using dual blades, throwing knives, ninja stars, etc. Accepting the ninja soul stone bequeathed to her by a fallen shinobi began her tutelage under Oboro. Shinobi practice the use of hand seals known as "mudras". Combining certain mudras in certain orders grants a unique set of skills powered by the natural energies of the land and life around them. Abilities range from breathing a stream of fire that deals damage to a wide area, to summoning a deluge of water or a blast of solid ice. It can summon down a single bolt of lightning, a ring of tumultuous earth, or grant the user sixty seconds of enhanced speed at the cost of depleting their stamina quicker. As a ninja Ziva has become much more agile and acrobatic. She can free run along most terrain with ease (such as trees), saw a general increase in speed, and has become even more adept at hiding in the shadows than before. With the use of smoke bombs she can appear as though she can teleport from one spot to the next. None of her skills are world breaking or earth shattering, however, and the wider ranged attacks do wide spread damage at the cost of potency.

✨ MAGIC ✨


• Most beings in Eorzea are capable of traveling via teleportation and return spells. The use of such magic is facilitated by aetheryte crystals throughout the realm. Once a person "attunes" to the crystal's energy they can basically travel the aether trail from point A to point B in a flash. These spells are reliant on having crystals (or some similar type of energy source) for her to attune with. No anchor/beacon, no teleportation. In addition casting the "teleport" spell does take time, and the "return" spell has a major 30 minute cool-down before it can be used again. "Return" can also only be used on whatever aetheryte is set as her home point.

• Summoning minions: Minions are cute little versions of many of the creatures, people, and monsters found throughout Eorzea. Some are simple doll replicas while others are young versions of their older counterparts (such as the chocobo chicks or griffin hatchling). They have no special abilities. I'm fine with requiring her to acquire these through AC rewards.

• The Limit Break is a skill that can only be used when in a party of 4 or more people. During combat Ziva can call on a bit of her allies strength to perform a special attack. This comes in two flavors. There's the standard limit break which can be performed with a small party of 4-7: She forms a glowing orange sword and performs a four-strike attack. The third tier LB is called Chimatsuri. During this LB she performs a rapid succession of hand seals, summoning multiple flaming blades to surround and then almost simultaneously attack the enemy. This can only be performed with a group of 8 or more people because of the energy involved. It, being the more powerful of the two, would probably pack enough punch to obliterate a car in a single go, for scale.

✨ CRAFTING/GATHERING ✨


• Being a crafter in Eorzea comes with many perks, from crafting itself to breaking down an object to its most basic components for supplies. Ziva is a member of the leatherworker, weaver, goldsmith, blacksmith, and miner guilds. She saw the opportunity to build onto her preexisting knowledge as a hunter and she took it. She knows how to treat, tan, cut, and work supplies, crafting gear, materials, furniture, jewelry, weapons, tools, airship parts, dyes, and glamour prisms which can be used to make certain gear look like other gear, with the proper catalyst. She's considered a master level weaver and leather worker (and in fact has taken a step further by becoming a specialist, meaning she is seeking to further hone her craft with recipes beyond the master level, such as magically augmented/enhanced gear). She's trained under the goldsmith and blacksmith guilds to the point that she can craft most of her own materials, tools, and jewelry, but only at the mid-level range. She still has to procure higher level items from an outside source, and all recipes start with basic ingredients that must be gathered. These are more supplementary skills. As a miner it's just what it says on the tin. She knows how to look for various types of minerals/ores/stones/gems and how to mine for them.

✨ HYDAELYN'S BLESSING ✨


• The Mother crystal has granted Ziva with a boon, an inner light that grants her protection and helps to shield her, though only to an extent. It's kind of like a small scale superhuman durability. She can still be killed but she can take more of a beating than the average person and is harder to kill as a result.

• One of the mysterious properties of the Echo is protection against "tempering" (brainwashing on the deepest level), in specific it protects her from the corrupting touch of god-like beings known as primals.

INVENTORY: Besides the clothing on her back, a few (now useless) chocobo whistles, and the crystals of light in her bag... Ziva's weapons of choice are her Jambiyas (an ornate pair of twin blades adorned with ivory, gold and embellished with red gemstones). She also carries small, plain throwing knives in holsters on her clothing, and a whip fastened on her back. She has a small horn strapped at her belt, which she uses to summon a griffin, Samira. It (she) doesn't have any magic spells or special abilities aside from being able to fly by use of wings. Griffins are non-sentient but considered intelligent, though not HIGHLY it would seem, as there are still those that roam wild. The feral ones are known to attack on sight, but Samiri is tame/trained. I understand that flight would need to be kept in check to avoid game-breaking. Ziva won't be flying off on her own anytime soon!
